A woman was allegedly pushed into a deep gorge by her live-in partner in Paturi district, Uttrakhand, and it took the locals with the help of 108 ambulance personnel to rescue her.

A woman was allegedly pushed into a deep gorge by her live-in partner in Paturi district, Uttrakhand, and it took the locals with the help of 108 ambulance personnel to rescue her.

Police said that the woman sustained grievous injuries from the attack, reported CNN News 18.

The incident took place on Sunday when the accused, identified as Birendra Patwal, brought the victim to Advani village to introduce her to his relatives. The duo came in a taxi from Delhi.

When the couple started trekking to the village after leaving the taxi, the accused pushed the woman into the gorge.

On Monday morning, the woman was spotted by the locals who were alerted by her cries. She was then rescued by the locals with the help of 108 ambulance personnel and was rushed to a hospital. She received multiple fractures in her arms and legs due to the fall.

Police said that the woman was living-in with the accused for the past two years.

An investigation is on and a hunt is on to nab the accused.
