Scrutiny of voter turnout at the end of the phase one polling in Andaman and Nicobar Islands has brought some glaring discrepancies to the fore.

The official document from the Election Commission states that the people eligible to vote in the "other" category were nine.

However, the voter turnout scrutiny at the end of phase one stated that the number of people who voted in the same category was 1,912.

In simple language, only nine people were eligible to vote in the other category in Andaman and Nicobar but a total of 1,912 voted in the same category instead.

The final number of voter turnout was a quantum jump of 1,903.

Meanwhile, Andaman and Nicobar Islands saw maximum VVPATS replacement. Nearly 25 per cent of the VVPAT machines were replaced.

While the election coverage stated that this was a typo. The math done on the document, however, is correct.

When one adds electors (male, female and others) which is 1,68,701+1,49,168+9, the sum total one gets is 3,17,878.

When one adds voters (male, female and others) which is 1,07,985+97,311+1,912, the sum total is 2,07,208.
