Lok Sabha election results for the state of Bihar will be out today.

Bihar is an important state as it sends 40 MPs to the Lok Sabha. The Lok Sabha elections in Bihar were held in seven phases. Bihar is a numerically important state because it has 40 Lok Sabha seats.

The schedule for the 2019 Lok Sabha election was announced by the Election Commission of India on March 10.

On April 11, Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada and Jamui Lok Sabha seats went to poll in the first phase.

The second phase was held on April 18 and saw polling in Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Bhagalpur and Banka seats.

Lok Sabha seats like Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura and Khagaria went to poll in the third phase on April 23.

The fourth phase of Lok Sabha election included seats like Darbhanga, Ujiarpur, Samastipur, Begusarai and Munger. Voting for this phase was held on April 29.

The fifth phase of voting was held on May 6 and voting was held in Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Saran and Hajipur Lok Sabha seats.

The next phase was on May 12 when voting was held in Valmiki Nagar, Paschim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Sheohar, Vaishali, Gopalganj, Siwan and Maharajganj Lok Sabha seats.

The last phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha election was held today and voting was held in Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Pataliputra, Arrah, Buxar, Sasaram, Kurakat and Jahanabad Lok Sabha seats.

Key candidates from the state include HAM(S)'s Jitan Ram Manjhi from Gaya seat, LJP's Chirag Kumar Paswan from Jamui seat, RJD's Sharad Yadav from Madhepura seat among others.
