The exit polls had predicted a clean sweep for BJP on at least 26 out of 28 seats. However, there is good news for the Congress party in Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat where MP Chief Minister Kamal Nath's son Nakul Kamal Nath is leading against BJP's tribal leader Nathan Shah.
Chhindwara is an important seat for the Congress as Kamal Nath has represented the seat in Parliament for nearly 40 years. Apart from Guna, Chhindwara is the only seat in Madhya Pradesh which withstood the Modi wave of 2014.

The vote counting for the Lok Sabha election 2019 is underway. Sadhvi Pragya is leading by a huge margin against senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh in Bhopal.

Elaborate arrangements in MP for LS polls counting
Counting of votes for 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh will be held at 292 centres across 51 district headquarters on Thursday and results are expected by late evening, a senior election official said.
Around 1,800 CCTV cameras have been installed at the counting centres where internet and wi-fi services will not be available, state Chief Electoral Officer V L Kantha Rao told reporters on Tuesday.
Can Congress government in MP survive Lok Sabha setback?
The Congress party in the 2018 state assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh got 114 seats. In 230-member house, the party fell short of magic figure by two seats but Kamal Nath managed to form the government with the help of the Bahujan Samaj Party that won two seats, the Samajwadi Party that won one seat and four independents. Kamal Nath in the run up to the 2019 general elections had claimed that the Congress party would win 22 out of the 29 seats. However, if the Congress party fails to win a majority seats in Lok Sabha polls in the state, its future in the assembly could also be in jeopardy. The BJP had challenged the Congress government to a floor test after the exit polls and is likely to do so again once results of the Lok Sabha elections are out.
Exit poll predict victory for BJP
Barely months after voting the Bharatiya Janata Party out of the state assembly, the voters are likely to elect the NDA leaders at 26 to 28 Lok Sabha seats, the exit poll results say. According to India Today-Axis My India Exit Poll 2019, Congress-led UPA may get only one to three seats. The vote share is predicted to be 57 per cent for NDA, 33 per cent for UPA, while others may get 10 per cent votes polled in the state.
