Mizoram: 17.20% voters recorded till 9 am in first phase of Lok Sabha polls

Election to the lone Mizoram Lok Sabha seat and bypoll to the Aizawl West -I assembly seat witnessed 17.20 per cent voters in the first two hours of voting on April 11.

An average voter turnout of 17.20 per cent was recorded in the first two hours in the election to the lone Mizoram Lok Sabha seat and bypoll to the Aizawl West -I assembly seat on Thursday (April 11), an election official said.

Brisk voting was reported from many places with enthusiastic voters coming to the polling stations to exercise their franchise.

At the Venghnuai polling station within Aizawl South - II assembly segment, voters, including many senior citizens, were seen queuing outside the booth.

An electorate of 7,87,777 would seal the fate of six candidates for the Lok Sabha seat and three nominees for the assembly by-poll.
