Assembly Election results 2019: BJP storms to power in Arunachal Pradesh | As it happened

The results for the 2019 Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Odisha and Tamil Nadu are to be announced today. In Tamil Nadu, AIADMK will require a significant number of seats of the total 22 to remain in power even as AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran has threatened to play spoilsport to Edappadi Palaniswami's chances of staying in power. In Andhra Pradesh, the test will be between Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam party (TDP) and Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Congress party. Arunachal Pradesh which went to polls in the state assembly seats on April 11, 2019 is a contest among the BJP, Congress, National People's Party (NPP), PPA and Janata Dal (Secular). The BJP led government in Arunachal Pradesh has 48 MLAs in the house of 60. Sikkim which has 32 Assembly seats, went to polls the same day people voted for the lone Lok Sabha seat in the state. Sikkim is currently under the hold of the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF). With exit polls predicting a fifth term for the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government in Odisha, pollsters also suggest BJP will make sufficient gain into the state too. The BJP is all set to form the next government in Arunachal Pradesh as it has crossed the magic figure bagging 37 seats with 43 assembly constituencies.
