After Modi's attack, Naidu to stage day-long protest in Delhi seeking special status for Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will stage 'Dharma Porata Deeksha' (a day-long protest for justice) at the Andhra Bhavan in New Delhi on February 11 seeking special category status for the state and fulfillment of state bifurcation assurances. The chief minister will observe a fast starting 8 am on February 11 and submit a memorandum to the President on February 12.
At his Guntur rally on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to address Andhra's long pending demand of special category status and fulfilment of state bifurcation assurances. Thousands of people staged protests on the roads of both Vijayawada and Guntur sporting black dresses and holding empty black pots. People were also seen holding placards that read, "Go back, Modi".
Addressing a public gathering in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur, Narendra Modi said Chandrababu Naidu is only interested in the securing the future of his son. Modi said Naidu says he is his senior. "You are senior but in changing your political partners. You are senior in leaving one group and joining the other," Modi said.
The prime minister targeted Chandrababu Naidu saying he a man who betrayed his own father-in-law.
Chandrababu Naidu, on the other hand, said, "The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders should understand the anger of people towards the central government, which failed to fulfil state bifurcation assurances."
The Chief Minister also said that after his appeal, the Telugu people staged silent protests during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He then dismissed the allegations of BJP leaders that the TDP government tried to create hurdles for the BJP meeting.
Naidu has participated in 'Dharma Porata Deeksha' in 11 districts of Andhra Pradesh so far and is going to stage the 12th 'Dharma Porata Deeksha' in Delhi tomorrow (February 11). The chief minister will also pay tributes to the Mahatma Gandhi statue at Rajghat and Ambedkar statue at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan.
Leaders of several opposition parties are going to extend their solidarity to the chief minister’s protest in Delhi.
He had staged an indefinite fast at the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in October 2013. He was forcibly shifted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on the fifth day for deterioration of health. Naidu observed fast on his birthday last year in Vijayawada demanding fulfilment of state bifurcation assurances.
