A blast was reported at the Central Ammunition Depot (CAD) in the Sonegaon Aabaaji village 18 km away from Maharashtra's Wardha early Tuesday morning.

Six people have been declared dead. Three are critically injured.

It is reported that the blast occurred while unloading ammunition of 23mm at the demolition ground at the CAD, Pulgaon.

The demolition ground was given to Ordnance Factory, Khamaria for their demolition activities. The blast occurred during the disposal process.

Three people were declared dead at the spot. The injured were rushed to the nearest hospital.

While three died during treatment, nine, including the three critically injured, are still admitted in the hospital.

The deceased include an ammunition factory employee and three labourers.
