DCW chief Swati Maliwal's hunger strike ends after 13 days

The hunger strike led by Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal ended on Sunday after doctors at the Lok Nayak Hospital (LNJP) in New Delhi fed her as she was put on intravenous.

The hunger strike led by Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal ended on Sunday after doctors at the Lok Nayak Hospital (LNJP) in New Delhi fed her as she was put on intravenous.

Swati Maliwal was rushed to the hospital early Sunday after she fell unconscious. She was leading an indefinite hunger strike which entered its 13th day today.

On Saturday night, doctors advised her to go to the hospital when her condition deteriorated, but she refused to budge.

She has been protesting against rape incidents in the country and had earlier demanded capital punishment for convicts in rape cases within 6 months.
