With the air quality touching 'poor' category in Delhi-NCR, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has stepped up its efforts to tackle the situation.

The pollution control board has directed its agencies to address complaints related to polluting activities in Delhi-NCR within 24 hours.

They have also been asked to also submit documentary evidence or visual proof of the matter solved to the board as well as to the complainant.

The pollution control board have asked the nodal agencies to open their own social media handles or accounts so that complaint received on social media platforms of CPCB can be forwarded to the respective agencies.

After receiving a complaint forwarded by CPCB, the nodal agency shall inform action taken on the same handle or account through which the complaint was received with a copy to the pollution board's handle or account.

Pollution Control Board urges to report polluting activities in Delhi-NCR

The pollution control board has urged the public to file complaints related to air pollution in Delhi-NCR through social media on its Twitter and Facebook accounts. The public can also raise a complaint on CPCB website and report polluting activities through Sameer App.

"Very effective tool is Sameer app because complaint registered on this app are automatically assigned based on the geo location of the area to concerned nodal agencies," VK Shkula, Senior scientist at CPCB said.

Earlier, the CPCB constituted 46 teams to combat pollution in Delhi-NCR.
