A fire broke out at State Bank of India's branch in Sector-17, Chandigarh on Tuesday. There were 22 employees inside the branch at the time of the incident. Everyone has been evacuated safely.

Prima facie the cause of fire seems to be a short circuit.

The fire has been brought under control.

This was the second incident of fire at a government building in Chandigarh within a week. On Friday, a fire had broken out at the panchayat office in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur district.
