Accusing CM Sawant of 'back-stabbing' allies and highlighting the contrast between the working styles of late chief minister Manohar Parrikar and his successor Sawant, former deputy CM of Goa Vijai Sardesai said as Parikar is no more, promises made by him and his future dreams are all being forgotten.

"This came as a massive shock to us, but not only us it has shocked the other alliance of NDA as well," said former deputy CM of Goa Vijai Sardesai on Goa politics.

Speaking to India Today, Sardesai said, "As a part of alliance (NDA) we were not kept in the loop. We did not know at all. It came as a big shock all of sudden when this happened. Even when Parikar was sick we stood by them (NDA). Parikar had given us his word when we came into alliance. All of a sudden the new CM finds the need to make his already stable government more stable and bring more people and chuck us out. So Parikar's word is not kept. This brings out new ramifications."

Sardesai said, "Now all the alliance party of NDA will have to watch their back. Even when they stood with them during difficult times such things are happening. This came as a big shock to me and equally to people of Goa and NDA alliances. Whole country is watching. I was offered CM post by Congress twice but I did not accept it."

Sardesai however is very positive that things might be rectified soon. He added, "I am still a member of NDA. We stood with commitment of Parikar. I want immediately that things are rectified or it will become a major problem. It is completely an implausible action."
