Girl raped for 3 months, Bihar Police arrests 3 after video goes viral

Bihar Police on Monday arrested three men after a video showing a girl being gang-raped went viral on social media. Two other accused persons are still at large.

The incident took place almost three months ago in Narhat village in Nawada district of Bihar.

The incident took place three months ago when the men abducted the girl and raped her while she was on way to her coaching classes.

The girl was gangraped and filmed. Thereafter, the accused continued assaulting the girl and threatened her to upload the rape video on social media.

Nawada's Additional Superintendent of Police Amritendu Shekhar Thakur said, "The incident took place 3-4 months ago but it is only now that the video has gone viral and we have come to know about it. It has also come to light that the victim was blackmailed and raped repeatedly over the last few months."

When the victim refused to give in on Sunday, the accused uploaded the video on social media.

Thereafter, the victim's family approached the local police and narrated her ordeal. An FIR was registered against the culprits.

"We investigated the case and prima facie it appears to be true. Based on the complaint filed by the victim, we have arrested three persons and are trying to apprehend the remaining two," said Thakur.

The arrested men have admitted to their crime.

On Monday, a medical examination of the victim was conducted by the police.
