Students of a school in Kalyanpur village were stranded after incessant rains lashed the area for five hours. As 43 children were trapped in the school and water was accumulated around it, the worried school administration sought the police's help. Constable Prithiviraj Singh Jadeja was part of the police team.

The school also called on the teams of district administration and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). However, the water flow was so heavy that it became difficult for the NDRF to rescue people with boats.

So, the Gujarat police took charge and started getting the kids out one by one. In the middle of this, constable Prithiviraj Singh Jadeja carried two schoolgirls on his shoulders through gushing floodwaters and got them out safely.

Additional DGP, Gujarat Police, Shamsher Singh took to Twitter to praise the heroic efforts of the constable and shared a picture and a video from the rescue operation. He tweeted saying, "Hamare Kandhe, Aapki Suraksha [Our shoulders, your security]. Heroic work by cop Prithiviraj Singh Jadeja in Morbi. (sic)"

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also lauded the cop on his bravery.

The video of the cop's rescue has started gaining a lot of traction on social media. Watch it here:
