Himachal Pradesh: 1 killed in Shimla as wall collapses due to heavy rains

A labourer was killed while six others were injured when the wall of a house collapsed in Shimla following heavy rains on early Sunday, the police said.

The deceased has been identified as Shah Alam, who hailed from Bihar's Kishanganj district, they added.

The wall of the house collapsed when the six were fast sleeping. The injured have been admitted to the IGMC Hospital for medical treatment.

Incessant rains continue to hit Himachal Pradesh, which has left hundreds of people stranded in the state.

Heavy rains triggered landslides, snapped road links, closing of hydropower projects and release excess water from a dam, officials said on Sunday.

Monsoon is expected to batter many Indian states as the India Met Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rains in several parts of north-west India for the next four-five days.
