The Meteorological Department on Wednesday issued a fresh orange weather warning for heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh on July 25, an official said.

The Shimla Meteorological Centre predicted rain in the state till July 30. However, the warning is only for Thursday.

It stated that heavy rain is likely to occur in plains, low and middle hills of the state on Thursday.

The MeT office issues colour-coded warnings to alert the public ahead of severe or hazardous weather which has the potential to cause "damage, widespread disruption or danger to life".

Orange is for weather conditions that have the capacity to impact significantly.

Several parts of Himachal Pradesh have received light to moderate rains since Tuesday.

Dharamsala has gauged 62 mm of rainfall, followed by 37 mm in Bakloh, 36 mm in Jogindernagar, 4 mm in Sarakaghar and 1 mm in Palampur.

On Wednesday, the highest temperature was recorded in Una at 37.3 degrees Celsius, the MeT department said.

Tribal district Lahaul and Spiti's administrative centre Keylong recorded the lowest temperature at 13.6 degrees Celsius, it said.
