Six terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on Friday morning. The encounter was reported from Sekipora area of Bijbehara in the district.

Army spokesperson Rajesh Kalia told India Today that arms and ammunitions have been recovered from the encounter site.

Search operations are still going on and internet services have been suspended in the area by authorities.

The terrorists were initially reported to be trapped.

The team began a cordon and search operation on the basis of a tip about the presence of terrorists in the area.

Acording to sources, these terrorists could be from the LeT outfit and were active in this area for past few days. The identification of the bodies are still being carried out.
