The people of Khijri in Jharkhand are furious over the condition of the roads in the area.

They are enraged but don't know whom to go to for the resolution of this problem. They are unware of who represents them in Assembly.

Khijri is located between Ranchi and Khunti adjacent to NH 20. The place from where, in 2002, late prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee kicked off the very popular Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.

Speaking to India Today, the townspeople said that they are irked over the dilapidated roads but don't know whom to approach for a resolution.

The townspeople are even unaware of the upcoming polls and who is their current MLA. Their MLA is yet to meet them as he has not once visited the place after winning.

When India Today tried talking to him, the MLA -- Ram Kumar Pahan -- did not comment on this issue.

It's ironice that people of Khijri, who witnessed the inauguration of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, reel under ignorance, cut off form the mainstream.

Alcohol addiction amongst the youth in the area is another big problem. They are not motivated enough to pursue education or find employement which adds up to the ill-informed structure of the area.
