During this operation, the troops came under fire from the terrorist group and in retaliatory fire, one terrorist was killed. The remaining terrorists managed to flee from the area due to darkness.

According to a top official, "The terrorists opened fire on the security personnel and several rounds of bullet were exchanged from both sides."

The Army has recovered one AK-47 rifle with magazine and 60 rounds of ammunition in possession from the slain terrorist.

In 2016, the Army had destroyed a NSCN camp in the same area.
