The oath-taking ceremony of 13 cabinet ministers and 10 state ministers of the newly elected Rajasthan government was held at Raj Bhavan in Jaipur. Many top Congress leaders, apart from Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, attended the swearing-in ceremony of the ministers.

The 13 cabinet ministers who took the oath in the presence of CM Ashok Gehlot are BD Kalla, Shanti Kumar Dhariwaal, Prasadilal Meena, Master Bhanwarlal Meghwaal, Lal Chand Katariya, Raghu Sharma, Pramod Jani Bhaya, Vishvendra Singh, Harish Choudhry, Rameshchand Meena, Udaylal Aanjana, Pratap Singh Khaachriyawas and Saleh Mohommad.

The 10 state ministers are Govind Singh Dotasra, Mamata Bhupesh, Arjun Bamaniya, Bhanwar Singh Bhati, Sukhram Vishnoi, Ashok Chandna, Tikaram Juli, Bhajanlal Jatav, Rajendra Singh Yadav and Subhash Garg.

60 per cent of the ministers from newly elected Rajasthan government were from Gehlot camp and 40 per cent were from Pilot camp. Out of the 23 ministers, 17 were elected for the first time.

The names of council of ministers were finalised by the state Congress leaders including Gehlot and Pilot after rounds of discussion with Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders, sources said.

This comes 13 days after the Congress defeated the BJP in the assembly elections. Though the Congress failed to reach a majority on its own, it is forming government with the support of RLD, BSP and some Independents.

Of the three states where Congress won the recently held elections, Rajasthan saw one of the stiffest fight for the post of chief minister between former CM Ashok Gehlot and Congress state president Sachin Pilot. Ultimately, Gehlot was given the CM post with Pilot as his deputy.
