This is how Rajasthan voted in general elections

The BJP bounced back spectacularly, winning 24 seats on its own, after losing the assembly elections in December, 2018. Its ally Rashtriya Loktantrik Party won the remaining Nagaur constituency.

The actual results from the 2019 general elections reveal that the BJP combine received 61 per cent of the total vote-share. Congress got 34 per cent and others, including the BSP, received only five per cent.

The state's caste-wise breakdown, as revealed in an Axis-My-India post-poll survey, shows 55 per cent of the scheduled-tribe voters backed the BJP + and 40 per cent of the ST bloc voted for Congress.

Only ten per cent of the Muslim voters supported the BJP combine while the 87 per cent voted for Congress. A tiny three per cent of Muslims backed other parties in Rajasthan.

As many as 78 per cent of the general-category voters backed the BJP +, 16 per cent Congress and six per cent others.

The Axis-My-India analysis reveals 75 per cent of the OBCs and the Rajputs voted for the BJP+ . Only 20 per cent of the OBCs and 19 per cent of the Rajputs voted for Congress in Rajasthan.

An analysis of voters based on their monthly family finances in Rajasthan reveals that 62 per cent with the expense less than Rs 5,000 voted for the BJP and 34 per cent for Congress.

On the other side of the spectrum, 65 per cent in the 31,000 and above category voted for the BJP alliance, 31 per cent for Congress and four per cent for others.

The education-wise data, put out by Axis-My-India, reveal that more than 50 per cent of the illiterate voters supported the BJP combine in the Lok Sabha elections.

Among professional degree-holders, 65 per cent voted for the BJP alliance whereas only 28 per cent backed Congress.

The age-wise voting data reveal that 62 per cent of the voters in the 18-25 bracket and 61 per cent in 61 and above supported the BJP combine. The corresponding figures for Congress stood at 32 per cent and 35 per cent respectively.

The Axis-My-India data linked to jobs showed that 59 per cent of the unemployed, 58 per cent of housewives, 64 per cent of students, 57 per cent of labourers and 64 per cent of farm labourers backed the BJP in the desert state. The corresponding figures for Congress stood at 36 per cent, 37 per cent, 30 per cent, 39 per cent and 31 per cent.

In rural areas, 61 per cent supported the BJP and 34 per cent Congress. In cities and towns, 61 per cent voted for the BJP and 35 per cent voted for Congress, the post-poll data show.

Gender-wise, 60 per cent of male and 62 per cent of female voters backed the BJP. Thirty-five per cent of men and 33 per cent of women voted for Congress.
