Explaining how he has descended from Lord Rama, the Rajasthan minister said that "Lord Ram had two children, Luv and Kush. We are descendants of Kush and not only us, but the descendants of Lord Rama are also in the entire world, are everywhere in India."

The claims to having Lord Rama's lineage have been made a week after the Supreme Court sought to know whether anyone from the 'Raghuvansha' was still living in Ayodhya. The Rajasthan minister said he will provide the proof to the court if it is required.

He also claimed that the entire world wants that Lord Rama's temple be built in Ayodhya.

"There are no two ways about this. The entire world wants that Lord Rama's temple be built in Ayodhya. Ayodhya belongs to Lord Rama. In this, there is no dispute between Hindus and Muslims. Muslims of Ayodhya also agree that Lord Rama's temple should be built. There is no dispute in this and the dispute that is going on over there, I feel that there is not much trouble," Khachariyawas said.

BJP lawmaker Diya Kumari, a member of the erstwhile Jaipur royal family, claimed that her family has descended from Lord Ram's son Kush.

"My family is the descendant of Lord Rama. My father was the 309th descendant of Lord Rama. We have documents that show that we descended from Kush, Lord Rama's son. We belong to the Kushwaha or the Kachhawa clan," Diya Kumari told India Today TV.

After her, the former Mewar royal family has claimed they are the descendants of Lord Rama.

"It is historically proven that my family is direct descendants of Shree Ram. We do not wish to stake any claim on Ram Janma Bhumi but believe that Shree Ram Temple must be built at Ram Janma Bhumi in Ayodhya," Arvind Singh Mewar of the erstwhile royal family in Udaipur tweeted.
