Rajasthan: Streets, shops, houses waterlogged due to incessant rains in Churu

Streets and houses in different parts of Churu, Rajasthan were flooded with water following heavy rainfall across the city on Saturday.

Heavy monsoon showers led to water-logging and heavy flooding in parts of the city. Various streets, shops and houses across the city are water-logged much to the distress of the locals and stray animals.

Water also accumulated in other areas of the city, which forced them to wade through knee-deep waters in day-time.

Due to clogging in various drainage pipes and overflowing of the drains, the sewerage water also accumulated on roads making the area more filthy and mucky. The water entered the houses in Churu and forced people to throw it out with the help of buckets.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely across several parts of the state today.

The minimum temperature in the city will hover at 25.6 degree Celsius today. Rain showers accompanied thunderstorm will continue for the next four days, said IMD.
