The Election Commission on Saturday announced the dates for Rajasthan Assembly elections.

Rajasthan will have single phase election on December 7 while counting will be on December 11, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) O P Rawat said.

With the announcement of election dates, model code of conduct comes into force in the state with immediate effect.

The term of the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly expires on January 20, 2019.

Apart from Rajasthan, the Election Commission also announced the election dates for Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.

Elections for Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases on November 12th and 20th while elections in Mizoram and Madhya Pradesh will be held on November 28th.

Counting of votes in all five states will be held on December 11, 2018.
