Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das made Eid-al-Adha extra special for a Ranchi family. The CM helped rescue a man stuck in Saudi Arabia.

Mohammed Mufiz, who had gone to Saudi Arabia almost three years ago, had lost all hope to see him again, but he is back, thanks to CM Raghubar Das.

A resident of Hindipiri in Ranchi, Mohammed Mufiz is a mechanic by profession and had gone to Saudi Arabia on a year-long contract in 2017. When his work duration was over, he requested his employer to release him, but he was allegedly forced to work for another year.

According to Mufiz's family, he was held against his will by his employer. He never received the salary promised to him, they said. The family claimed that after two years, the employer's behavior became very harsh. He was treated worse than an animal and was beaten regularly under captivity, they said.

Mohammed Mufiz somehow managed to flee but only to land up in a fresh soup. His appointing organisation fabricated a charge of theft against him and a case was filed against him.

But somehow, he managed to contact his family and seek help. This was three months ago.

His sister Ishrat Pravin approached the chief minister and requested his intervention.

The CM appointed a team, which followed the case up with the External Affairs Ministry and Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia.

The team's efforts came through and Mohammed Mufiz was issued an emergency passport. He landed in India on Monday morning and was flown to Ranchi later in the day.

His eager and elated family received him at the airport.

The moment Mohammed Mufiz came out of the airport terminal thrill and happiness descended at the airport canopy. Tears of joy streamed in the eyes of those present as his sister Ishrat Pravin tied a rakhi on his wrist.
