Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday penned a letter to the Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar, raising questions over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

"Nitish government is proving to be highly arrogant, incompetent and insensitive," Tejashwi said.

He was referring to the killing of former RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin's nephew Yusuf on Friday.

Yusuf was shot from close range and was declared brought dead at the hospital.

In the letter, Tejashwi said that many opposition leaders have been killed in the state in broad daylight recently.

"RJD and RLSP [Rashtriya Lok Samta Party] leaders are being targeted specially," he said.

Tejashwi also said that the criminals have been given free run to go about their business fearlessly.

"There is no rule of law in the state and nobody is safe," Tejashwi said.

He also said that powerful elements close to the ruling coalition are not only backing criminals but are also involved in carrying out underground business of mafias.

Tejashwi said that the crime has risen not only in other parts of the state but also in Patna while adding, "Crime is rising unabated and unchecked".

"I am requesting Nitish Kumar to take notice of the alarming condition of deteriorated law and order situation in the state.
