Tamil Nadu: Boy gets electrocuted by live wire from an ATM ad board

A 13-year-old boy namely Dinesh Kumar on Friday was electrocuted in Kullanchavadi, Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu when he was returning from a Primary Health Centre.

A 13-year-old boy namely Dinesh Kumar on Friday was electrocuted in Kullanchavadi, Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu when he was returning from a Primary Health Centre.

The boy, who was on a bicycle, was electrocuted by a live wire from an ATM advertisement hoarding. The advertisement was small and was only around one to two feet in size.

According to sources, the boy who was suffering from fever and was admitted to primary health care. It is alleged that the boy was trying to avoid a vehicle which was coming from the opposite end.

While trying to balance himself, the boy held on to the pole and got electrocuted as the ATM advertisement bulb was disconnected and the live wire was touching the pole.

The boy was rushed to the nearby hospital, however, was declared dead on arrival.

An FIR under Section 304A was registered against the Syndicate bank manager and the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board officials who were allegedly responsible for the disconnected wire on the pole.
