In July, 2018, Tej Pratap dressed up as Lord Shiva to offer prayers at a Shiva temple in Patna. Tej Pratap Yadav offered prayers before leaving for Deoghar's Baba Baidyanath Dham, one of the sacred abodes of Lord Shiva.

Just before marrying Aishwarya Rai, the daughter of party legislator Chandrika Rai and granddaughter of former chief minister Daroga Prasad Rai, on May 12, 2018, Tej Pratap Yadav was shown as Lord Shiva and Aishwarya as Parvati in a poster put up in Patna.

Tej Pratap Yadav has dressed up as the Hindu god Krishna on several occasions in the past.

In 2017 Tej Pratap Yadav donned the avatar of Lord Krishna. Tej Pratap Yadav was seen wearing a shawl, a blue jacket and a red headband with a feather on it, playing a flute to welcome the New Year at his mother Rabri Devi's residence.

In June, 2019, Tej Pratap Yadav announced that he will launch 'Tej Sena', which he said is an online platform for change makers.

The picture carries an image of Tej Pratap Yadav, besides a small sketch of a lantern which is the Rashtriya Janata Dal's (RJD) poll symbol.
