The winter is far from over this Valentine's Day. Heavy rain and snow is very likely in parts of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir today. The national capital also received light rain this morning.

Himachal Pradesh IMD Director Manmohan Singh said, "Heavy snowfall is expected to occur in upper areas in the state. Heavy rainfall accompanied with hail is likely to occur in lower areas."

According to meteorological departent, the cold wave has also spread over to the plains. Heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.

For Delhiites, the Valentine's Day started with light rainfall.

Thunderstorm with light to moderate rain would occur over the entire Delhi, Hissar, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Narwana, Hansi, Gohana, Ganaur, Sonipat, Bagpat, Meerut, Noida, Greater Noida, Gaziabad, and Indrapuram.

Hail and precipitation is very likely to occur over and nearby IGI Airport, and many places of central, North Delhi, Gaziabad, Gurugram, Manesar, Rewari during the next two hours.

Minimum temperature in the city is likely to be around 14 degrees Celsius whereas the maximum is expected to be around 19 degrees Celsius. Thunderstorm with hail is likely to take place in some parts of the city.

Around 10 trains towards Delhi are running late today due to power visibility.

Besides this, thunderstorm accompanied with hailstorm and gusty winds is likely over parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Strong winds with speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph is likely to occur over plains of northwest India and adjoining central India on February 14.

Light rain/snow is likely to be observed at a few places over Jammu and Kashmir and rain/thundershower at isolated places over east Rajasthan.

The rainfall activity is likely to shift towards eastern India from February 15.
