Assam police on Sunday arrested a youth from Nalbari district who allegedly gave threats to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Assam Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on social media.

The arrested youth has been identified as Lintu Kishore Sarmah from Borbhag area in Nalbari district.
According to the media reports, in his Facebook post, Kishore wrote that Himanta Biswa Sarma’s death might be during an election meeting in 2021.
On that day, a huge public rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be held in Assam’s Guwahati. The target of the terrorist will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but Himanta Biswa Sarma will die. Himanta’s life is now in my hand. If to save the life of Himanta Biswa Sarma then he should give me a job at the office of Nalbari Deputy Commissioner immediately, Lintu Kishore Sarmah said in his Facebook post.
Lintu Kishore Sarmah had shared the Facebook post on September 15.
The post came to light after a person named Samej Uddin lodged an FIR against Lintu Kishore Sarmah at Nalbari police station.
