Recognising the role of the Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA), YS Jaganmohan Reddy raises the health workers monthly income from Rs 3,000 to Rs 10,000.
The popular state health cover scheme Aarogyasri, named initially after Rajiv Gandhi, changed to NTR Vaidya Seva scheme by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government, and will now become Dr YSR Aarogyasri after his father and ex-chief minister Dr YS Rajashekar Reddy.

Responding to it and the officials' explanations at the departmental review meeting, YS Jaganmohan Reddy ordered a committee be formed for undertaking a total revamp of the services in government hospitals.
"This is the priority department and I will directly supervise the performance of the department," YS Jaganmohan Reddy, suggesting that he may keep the health portfolio, said.
YS Jaganmohan Reddy disclosed that he would act on the committee's recommendations towards providing quality services that are also affordable in the government hospitals within 45 days of receiving its report.
The special chief secretary Dr PV Ramesh, doctor-turned-bureaucrat, is to coordinate with the committee to come up with an action plan on bettering the services and augmenting infrastructure.
YS Jaganmohan Reddy emphasised that the goal should be to transform government hospitals into model hospitals.
YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that improvement in health services should reflect at the field-level instead of escalation of numbers on a dashboard.

RAJIV AAROGYASRI NOW DR YSR AAROGYASRI
Alongside this initiative, Jaganmohan Reddy announced the pioneering Rajiv Aarogyasri scheme will hereafter be known as the Dr YSR Aarogyasri.
Rajiv Aarogyasri offered a special health cover for treating specific illnesses at predetermined costs fixed and paid for by the government.
The earlier Telugu Desam Party government had renamed Rajiv Aarogyasri as the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme to perpetuate the memory of the party founder.
ASHA WORKERS' SALARY
In an extraordinary gesture YS Jaganmohan Reddy raised the monthly wages of ASHA workers from Rs 3,000 to Rs 10,000 in line with the pre-poll promise of his Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress (YSRC) election manifesto.
They are health workers appointed as a part of the National Rural Health Mission that began in 2005 by the central government's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
IMPROVEMENT IN 108 AMBULANCE SERVICES
YS Jaganmohan Reddy called for improvement in the 108 ambulance services.
YS Jaganmohan Reddy directed officials to prepare a report on the paucity of doctors, nurses and paramedics in government hospitals.
YS Jaganmohan Reddy also asked them to take strict actions against those selling spurious drugs.
