Been to Amitabh Bachchan waterfall in Sikkim? Even Big B is shocked

Amitabh Bachchan recently asked his fans whether an Amitabh Bachchan waterfall also known as the Bhim Nala Falls or Bhema Falls exists in Sikkim. After Twitter replied with a yes, even Big B was left shocked.

Did you know that there’s waterfall named after Amitabh Bachchan in Sikkim? No. Well, neither did the man after whom the waterfalls are named.

Recently, the senior Bachchan retweeted a picture of a fan standing at the Amitabh Bachchan Falls, also known as the Bhim Nala Falls or Bhema Falls. The fan had tweeted the image saying, "Can't come to Sikkim, and not go visit a place named after The man."

After which Amitabh Bachchan posted the picture asking his fan, "That's not true is itthe Falls name." Though the legendary actor did not know whether the fact shared by his fan was true or not, there does exist a fall named after him.

Even the man who tweeted the original picture of him enjoying the falls replied back to him saying, "Absolutely true Sir, I'm still in Sikkim and can vouch for it."

In fact, many other followers confirmed the news for Amitabh saying that there exists a waterfall with his name.

The falls are located on the road connecting Chungthang to Yumthang Valley in Lachung. Lachung is a district located in North Sikkim.

The locals have named this waterfall as Amitabh bachan waterfall mainly because it is very tall. It is also one of the tallest waterfalls in Sikkim and among the prominent spots to visit in Lachung.

HOW TO REACH:

The falls are located approximately 13kms away from Lachung. If you want to travel to the falls one has to take a cab from Lachung, which will be a 1 hour ride.

Lachung, which is a small mountain village at an altitude of 8,610ft and located about 118kms from Gangtok. It takes about 6 hours by car to reach Lachung from Gangtok.
