On Sunday, some criminals robbed an ICICI bank ATM in South Delhi's Asola Bhatti area and ran away with `3.75 lakh cash. The robbers sprayed black paint on the CCTV cameras and used a gas cutter to open the cash boxes.

Atul Kumar Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Delhi, confirmed the incident. He said that the bank did not confirm the "actual" amount that the robbers took away. Local police have registered a case of robbery with the Maidan Gadhi police station and an investigation is underway.

Local police said that the incident took place between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Sunday as the video obtained from the CCTV camera was not visible at that time. "They cut open the ATM with a gas cutter and took it away after seemingly spraying on the camera. As a result, CCTV footage is not yet available," a police officer said. "There was a few lakhs in the ATM at the time it was looted," the officer added.
