Activists of Dogra Front and people in the old city area of Jammu organised grand celebrations inside a temple. Holding tricolours in their hands, the people chanted 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' slogans and also sang patriotic songs.

"We will continue our celebrations for many days. We can't even explain the extent of our happiness. We are thankful to PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for liberating the people of Jammu from the domination of Kashmiri politicians," said Ashok Gupta, president, Dogra Front.

"A great step has been taken to correct the historic blunders. People of Jammu have finally got justice. We are now quite hopeful that Modi government will also free PoK from Pakistani occupation," said another activist of Dogra Front. Meanwhile, on Tuesday evening, the BJP workers, led by party's state president Ravinder Raina assembled near the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh, the last King of J&K who had signed the instrument of accession in 1947, and celebrated by lighting 'diyas' (lamps).
