West Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Parvesh Verma on Sunday once again raised the issue of illegal mosques and graveyards on the government land in the city while addressing a conference of the group housing society at Talkatora Stadium.

Parvesh Verma said if the BJP forms the government in Delhi, then it will not allow construction of illegal mosques and graveyards. He also said out of 50 graveyards, they have removed 45 in the government park of Uttam Nagar.

The BJP MP also met LG Anil Baijal and handed him a list of 54 government lands in his parliamentary area where illegal mosque and graveyards were constructed. "When the time comes for elections, structures such as mosques and graveyards are constructed. I object to such constructions on the government land. There are 54 such places where mosques and graveyards are built," he said.

Reacting to Verma's remark, the LG said all these places would be investigated and if any such illegal structures are found, they would be demolished.

BJP MP Verma said if they come to power, they will demand Rs 1 lakh crore from Prime Minister Narendra Modi so that the system in Delhi can be improved.
