North East Delhi is the most densely populated Lok Sabha constituency from which three political biggies - Dilip Pandey of Aam Aadmi Party, Sheila Dikshit of Congress and Manoj Tiwari of BJP will try their luck this general elections. Migrant population, unauthorised colonies and racial equations are some of the main issues gripping the parliamentary constituency.

This constituency covers some areas of Delhi's entire North East, Central Delhi District and some areas of Shahdara district. Ten Assembly seats, including Gokalpuri, Ghonda, Seelampur, Rohtas Nagar, Babarpur, Karawal Nagar, Timarpur and Mustafabad, fall under this constituency. There are several unauthorised colonies such as Sonia Vihar and Shriram Colony in this area where a large number of migrants live.

Even though a large number of migrant and minority communities live in the Seelampur area of North East Delhi, they mostly give preference to development. People of the area appreciated the functioning of the Delhi government in the educational and health care sectors.

Sheila Dikshit is contesting as a Congress candidate from North East Delhi. Many voters from the Jafrabad area of North East Delhi believe that the way Sheila Dikshit performed three times as chief minister and worked for the development of the area, there are high chances that she might come out victorious as the MP. Manoj Tiwari won a massive marginal victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as a BJP candidate.

However, this time he may have to face a tough fight from the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress candidates.
