Ajay Devgn on Lata Mangeshkar disliking Total Dhamaal’s Mungda: She can slap us if she wants

Ajay Devgn's film Total Dhamaal hit the screens today. The film also features Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Riteish Deshmukh, Johnny Lever, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi, Boman Irani, Sanjay Mishra and Esha Gupta in key roles.

The film also features Sonakshi Sinha in the song Mungda, which is the remake of the 1978 track. The original song featured Helen. The remix version of the song got mixed reactions from fans.

Lata Mangeshkar didn't like the remix version of the song and she reacted to Bollywood’s lack of originality. Hearing about Lata's comment, Ajay Devgn said that she is very senior to them and if she didn't like the remix version, she can slap them if she wants.

In an interview with a daily, the actor gave the statement. He said, "Lataji is very senior. I think a lot of people recreate songs and they don’t think like this. So, if she has gotten upset about it, she can come and slap us also. She has got all the rights to do so. I mean, it’s a fact, she can shout at us also. We’re ready to apologise if she has felt bad about something.

The original song was sung by Usha Mangeshkar. The music was by Rajesh Roshan and lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri. The song has been recreated by singers Jyotica Tangri, Shaan and Subhro Ganguly and music director duo Gourov-Roshin.
