Uttarakhand wins Most Film-Friendly State Award at National Film Awards 2018

At the National Film Awards announcement ceremony, Uttarakhand was declared as the most film friendly state for 2018.

Uttarakhand has been declared as the Most Film-Friendly State at 66th National Film Awards announced today. This is the first time that this category has been added to the list of National Awards.

A panel comprising of Rahul Rawail, Utpal Borpujari and A S Kanal announced the award.

Bollywood film Kedarnath, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, was shot in the state. The film starred Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan. The actress made her debut with the film.

To give encourage more filmmakers to shoot films in the state, Uttarakhand government has provided various subsidies.

The National Film Awards is the most prominent film award ceremonies in India. It is the 66th edition of the film awards of national importance. Established in 1954, it has been administered by the Indian government's Directorate of Film Festivals since 1973.
