Ram Charan all heart for Amitabh Bachchan in Sye Raa: He didn't even charge us for flight tickets

Bringing the story of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy to the people of our country is Megastar Chiranjeevi's 12-year-long dream. The film, directed by Surender Reddy, has been in the making for over two years now. The teaser of the period flick released yesterday (August 20) and it was a visual extravaganza.

In an interview to Film Companion's Anupama Chopra, Megastar Chiranjeevi and producer Ram Charan opened up about the process behind making the film. On roping in Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan for a cameo, Charan revealed an interesting trivia about him.

Reportedly, Big B didn't even let Chiranjeevi or Ram Charan charge for his flight tickets. Ram Charan said, "He didn't even charge for his flight tickets. We couldn't push him after a point."

Agreeing to what Charan said, Chiranjeevi stated, "That is a great thing. That way, Mr Bachchan didn't even allow me to keep a private jet for his travel. I asked him about his accommodation and he said that he's doing it for our friendship. We know each other for a long time. That way we are so lucky to have him on board."

The Khaidi No 1 star said that Amitabh Bachchan agreed to do a cameo role over a phone call. "I'm indebted to Amitabh Bachchan sir. I called him and told him about the character. He's a mentor to me. He said that Telugu was a problem for him. I said, "No problem, whatever language you're comfortable in, you can deliver your dialogues." He immediately said ok. I think this is the first time he is doing other language films. "

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy traces the story of Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, who was the first person to revolt against the Britishers. The film, set in the 1850s, has an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Vijay Sethupathi, Kichcha Sudeep, Ravi Kishan and Jagapathi Babu.
