After 'failure' in Assam, why NRC pitch in Karnataka?

The BJP government in Karnataka is mulling introducing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state, Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Thursday.

Bommai added that his govt has started collecting the information and will discuss with Union Home Minister and then go ahead.

Meanwhile, Congress and JDS leaders have slammed the move and urged the govt to concentrate on flood victims and not to make controversial statements.
