PM Modi breaks his silence on Jharkhand lynching: Decoding his speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed the Rajya Sabha today, broke his silence on lynching in Jharkhand, encephalitis horror in Bihar and slammed the Opposition for blaming EVMs for their defeats in elections.

Talking about lynching of a young man by a mob in Jharkhand, PM Modi said the incident pained him but it's unfair to blame the entire state for it.

"The lynching has pained me. It has saddened others too. But some people in the Rajya Sabha are calling Jharkhand a hub of lynching. Is this fair? Why are they insulting a state?"
