Battle Royale games have become a superhit among mobile users across the globe and India, with its huge mobile phone user base, is no exception.

In a first, New Delhi will host one of the biggest Battle Royale tournaments on Saturday, October 2. The Siri Fort Complex in the capital city will host a mobile gaming spectacle -- the grand finale of Free Fire India Today League.

The Biggest Free Fire Battle Royale League in India was launched together by India Today and Garena.

In what can be seen as a testament to the growing popularity of Battle Royale games in India, the Free Fire India Today League saw more than 30,000 teams entering the tournament. The qualifiers of the first-of-its-kind league was held over a period of 15 days during which teams battled in over 100 Free Fire matches.

The winner of Saturday's Free Fire India Today League final will win a whopping Rs 8.5 lakh while a total prize money of Rs 35 lakh is up for grabs.

On top of that, the winning team will represent India in a global tournament called the Free Fire World Series that will be held in Brazil in November.
