Free Fire India Today League Final, New Delhi, highlights: Team Nawabzade wins finale

Team Nawabzade have won the Free Fire India Today League grand finale and they will take home a whopping price money of 8.5 Lakh. Nawabzade will now represent India in a global tournament called the Free Fire World Series that will be held in Brazil in November. Nawabzade finished 9th in the last series without any kill but still won the finale. Team Nightmare were first runnners up followed by Team Namooney.

The Royal Beast will walk away with the Booyah in the final Map i.e 8th. The thugs of India were eliminated. It will be interesting to see who will qualify and represent India at Free Fire World Series Brazil in November 2019.

Team No Mercy has won the Booyah in Map 7 and this is their first one in the seven games played today. No Mercy was at third position in the 6th Map.

"The love of the game made me explore this path. I have been playing CS for quite some time now. There are two type of guys who watch a tournament.One who enjoys watching the game play and the players and the other who is into following and enjoying shout casting. I was the 2nd type. I was always hooked on to how these guys do it and their love for the game. It was an accidental introduction for me. I was playing CS once. Just for the fun of it, I casted it. I posted it on the internet and it turned out very good. So, i thought why not do it and help the community. There are so many gamers but very little talent in the casting side."

Team Nawabzade claim Booyah in Map 6 with 19 kills and 580 points. Other teams are Team Mossaad, Hawk's, Royal Beasts, Thugs of India, Nawabzade, Namooney, WAG, Kingz God, Nightmare, No Mercy and Valerian.

Nightmare become the first team to bag back-to-back Booyahs. Nawabzade, Valerian and Namooney eliminated in Map 5.

"In any traditional sport, we have commentary. In Esports we have shout casters. It's essentialy the same thing. Imagine AB de Villiers going crazy, everyone gets excited right. So Esports is a bit more fast paced. It's all about the hype. If something like that happens here, we go excited and the audience get excited. It's a chain reaction," Ranjith a.k.a. Mamba, one of India's top esports commentators, explains shout casting.

"Play by play caster and the color caster. We had those two specific roles when we started out. Now they are overlapping. A play-by-play caster goes into the technalities. And the color caster explaians why certain things happened. He is basically the narrator," Mamba further added.

Team Nightmare clinch Booyah in Map 4 (Purgatory) with 7 kills and 440 points. Team No Mercy are ranked second followed by Valerian, Kingz God, Namooney, Punisher YT, Nawabzade, Mossaad, Hawk's, Thugs of India, Royal Beasts and Team Wag.

Team Punisher YT claim Booyah in Map 3 (Bermuda) with 7 kills and 440 points. Team Mossaad are ranked second followed by Hawk's, Royal Beasts, Thugs of India, Nawabzade, Namooney, WAG, Kingz God, Nightmare, No Mercy and Valerian.

Team Nawabzade have taken the lead in Map 3 while Team WAG have been eliminated.

"I have been playing Free Fire from the time it released. I was not able to participate because I lost my previous log in when I lost my phone. Came here to watch the finalists and get a feel of it all. It's been a great experience so far," a fan present at the Free Fire India Today League said.

Gamers can pose in front of a green screen and then customise backgrounds and Free Fire characters. "It's free. Free Fire has come up with a great feature here," Ajay, a gamer, says.

Team Nawabzade get the second Booyah on Map 2 (Purgatory) with 560 points and a total of 13 kills followed by Namooney, Nightmare, Hawk's, No Mercy, Mossaad, Kingz God, Royal Beasts, Valerian, WAG, Thugs of India and Punisher YT

Thugs of India have been eliminated in the ongoing Map 2. Hawk's have the lead again with 5 kills and all 4 players remaining followed by Royal Beasts with 4 but they only have 1 player remaining. Nightmare and Nawabzade both have 3 kills each all their players remaining.

Team Namooney have got the first Booyah in Map 1 (Bermuda) with 10 total kills and 500 points. Kingz God are next with 260 points followed by Hawk's, Nightmare, Mossaad, No Mercy, Valerian, Thugs of India, Punisher YT, Nawabzade, WAG and Royal Beasts.

"I have come here with my son. He is quite interested in gaming. He is enjoying the competition right now. My son plays around 2-3 hours a day. As parents, we don't like it. We tell him to focus more on studies. However, we want him to strike a balance.

"Somewhere, we need to draw the line. As you see, health is an important thing. He needs to find ways to keep himself active," said Riddhimah, whose son is an avid gamer and they both are attending the Free Fire India Today League.

"But yes. He is thinking about a career in his. I am not saying no to it. He is good at it. Sometimes, he puts his videoes on YouTube. With competitions like this coming up, I think there is something more to it. He plays fortnight. He is very passionate. So you never know."

Hawk's gaming are in the lead with 6 kills and 3 players alive at the moment out of 4. Team Namooney are next with 4 kills and 3 alive players followed by Team Nightmare and Mossaad, both have 2 kills each.

The first round is underway and the safe zone is reducing its boundary. Team Hawk's gaming are in the middle of the safe zone at the moment. Hawks have one kill at the moment.

48 players from all the 12 teams now make their way on to the stage. With Battle Royale games gaining huge popularity in the country, the Free Fire India Today League is seen as a massive push to promote Esports. The winner of the Free Fire India Today League will walk away with Rs 8.5 Lakh while the 2nd, 3rd and 4th-placed teams will get Rs 4 Lakh, Rs 2 Lakh and Rs 1 Lakh, respectively.

The players are getting ready. They have left the auditorium. Most of them are relaxed. No signs of any tension ahead of the big finale. They are waving at their friends and families as they head to the stage for the final to begin.
