To save the earth, we need to stop the use of plastic in our daily lives. Surely, it is easier said than done. However, an entrepreneur from Assam has found a way to help.

A former IIT student and now an entrepreneur from Assam, Dhritiman Bora has made water bottles from bamboo. These bio-degradable water bottles are absolutely leak-proof. These bottles are easy to carry around as the mouths of the bottles are made of cork which does not allow the spillage of water.

If you are concerned about the hygiene quotient of these air-tight water bottles, they are extensively treated during the manufacturing process to make them bacteria-free. Hence, these bamboo bottles are absolutely safe for storing water in them.

Another plus point of these bottles, apart from the fact that they do not harm the environment, is that these bottles keep your water cool during the scorching summers, unlike plastic water bottles.

What is more important is that their maintenance is exactly similar to that of the bottles that we already use. Wash the interiors once every two weeks with a brush and keep them dry when not in use are the only two things that you need to keep in mind.

These biodegradable water bottles won't even drill a hole in your pocket. The prices of the bottle vary from Rs 450- Rs 700.
