Who has not seen the stunts that Superstar Rajinikanth pulls off in his films? We all have, right? However, his namesake from Uttar Pradesh is also not behind when it comes to stunts. In real life, though.

The Rajnikant that we are talking about is a native of Manda in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He recently climbed a pillar of the New Yamuna Bridge in Prayagraj, along with the Indian flag.

But why?

Exactly 10 days ago, Chandrayaan 2's Vikram lander lost touch with Isro right before it was to land on the lunar surface of the Moon. Since then, Isro has been trying to reconnect with the Vikram lander, but to no avail.

This setback in the Moon mission hit Rajnikant quite hard. So, he climbed the pillar of the bridge on Monday (September 16) night. This public display of emotions led to a lot of people coming out on the bridge and recording videos of the incident.

Watch the video here:

After spending hours on the bridge, Rajnikant finally passed a handwritten note via an iron plate to the people on the bridge. The note read, "Chandrayaan 2 ke Vikram lander ka sampark Isro se nahi ho jata, tab tak main Chandradev se prarthana karta rahunga (Till Chandrayaan 2's Vikram lander gets back in touch with Isro, I will keep praying to Moon God). Rajnikant."

The handwritten note by Rajnikant

This is not the first time that he has pulled this stunt. Not long ago, he climbed the same pillar of the same bridge because he wanted to protect the environment.

This incident also reminded us of what happened recently in Telangana, when a fan of Baahubali star Prabhas climbed the top of a cellphone tower and threatened to jump off and kill himself if he was not allowed to meet the actor.

Chandrayaan 2's Vikram lander, meanwhile, remains elusive. Isro has not been able to establish communication with the lander yet. Nasa's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter will fly over the lander's landing site today and click pictures. These pictures will help determine the fate of Vikram.
