Two weeks after the Kerala Police opened an account on TikTok, the Uttarakhand Police has joined the platform to send across messages on safety and social relevance to the citizens. It appears that the TikTok audience is quite impressed as the Uttarakhand Police account has already amassed 14,000 fans and garnered over 1 lakh hearts.

We spotted several videos on the verified account of the Uttarakhand Police such as self defence techniques for women and road safety. Uttarakhand Police also shared videos of Independence Day celebrations and a special clip on Rakhi.

Needless to mention, TikTok users loved the videos as the clips garnered over a million views after being made available. The main intention of the Uttarakhand Police behind joining TikTok is to connect with people at a personal level.

Speaking about it, Ashok Kumar, Uttarakhand Police Director General (Law and Order), said, "We believe being on TikTok gives us the opportunity to be easily approachable, while allowing us to connect with the general public at a very personal level. Uttarakhand Police would like to share awareness videos related to road safety, cyber security, woman safety and other social issues through this platform," news agency IANS reports.

On their TikTok account, Uttarakhand Police will also create and post videos that raise awareness among the youth on various social issues.
