AT LAKE TERRACE, Bune — The Coffee Room is a hot spot for the millennial gastronomes who demand not just good food but a relaxed ambience as well.

Named after the Egyptian Goddess of prosperity, the 800 sq ft café is divided into three sections. The cafe that was started by Abhishek Roy and his wife Meenakshii has a young and relaxed vibe. While the dim mezzanine floor with mat seating arrangement made us feel comfortable instantly, the outdoor space with plants and rustic decor felt rejuvenating.

We decided to sit under natural light soaking in the company of flora and fauna and taste the new menu of this 30-seater café. Sipping a glass of Fruit Punch, the concoction of soda and lychee juice with chunks of apple, mango and grapes, we waited for the new fare. You can also check their Oreo Shake and Cold Coffee, which is equally comforting. Triggering a burst of flavours on our taste buds first was Chicken Croquettes. Served with a cocktail sauce, the bite-size chicken sautéed in chopped onions, green chillies, coriander and capsicums had a strong hint of garlic and we enjoyed it thoroughly.

Moving over to a citrusy bite we sampled Roasted Lemon Chicken Salad. The roasted shredded chicken seasoned with chaat masala was made tangy with fresh lemon juice and we munched happily the julienned bell peppers, tomatoes and lettuce that was tossed beautifully with the main ingredient.

For a more filling bite, you can opt for their Toasted Tuna Sandwich which has a strong potential to win your heart with its creamy and flavourful filling and is a classic example of simple yet sumptuous bite. It is available in both toasted and grilled form. The extra layer of mayonnaise with minced Tuna fish, bell peppers, onion and lettuce adds more taste to the sandwich and we highly recommend it. Opt for their parantha and mutton if you are more inclined towards home-style cooked food. The flaky and crispy and not oily laccha parantha with the non-spicy Bengali style Kosha Mangsho warmed our hearts. One can also find combo meals on the menu which is easy on the pocket and filling as well. Rs500 ++ for two
