I can’t think of anything better to set your intermittent-fasting schedule around than Indianapolis restaurant weeks like Devour Indy Winterfest. Between it and other events, you’ll be treated to 13 weeks of restaurant deals in 2020.

Devour is like the master of ceremonies when it comes to scoring cheap eats at the best Indianapolis restaurants. Some 150 places are on the list for Devour Indy Winterfest Jan. 20 to Feb. 2. They include Bluebeard, Harry & Izzy’s, Oakley’s Bistro, St. Elmo steakhouse, Hyde Park Prime steakhouse, Vida, Tinker Street, Provision and The Capital Grill.

Devour’s best deals

Devour Indy Winterfest is just one of seven restaurant week events planned across the Indianapolis area. Details about the others follow, but Devour deals are some of the best. And they stretch from Carmel to Fishers and down to Broad Ripple, downtown and the south side. Plus, discounts return Aug. 24 to Sept. 6 for Devour Indy Summerfest.

During Winterfest 2020, score multi-course meals for as low as $15 per person. For instance:

  • Burger Study's $30 deal for two people gets you and a companion an appetizer to share, say a St. Elmo shrimp cocktail or tots smothered in beer cheese and bacon. You each get a burger. The list of 13 includes an Indiana Wagyu patty, from Joseph Decuis Wagyu Farm, topped with triple-creme whipped brie, blueberry jam and arugula.
  • Livery’s $20 per person, three-course menu includes the restaurant’s beloved empanada appetizers, shrimp and chorizo paella for dinner and churros for dessert.
  • Four Day Ray in Fishers offers a $20 per person three-course dinner special that pleases sandwich lovers. Start with an appetizer, say fried cheese curds with spicy tomato sauce, then dig into one of four sandwiches including chile-citrus braised short ribs inside a torta with borracho beans, guacamole, pickled red onion, lettuce and cilantro. Desserts include a peanut butter porter beer brownie ice cream sandwich with salted caramel.

Hamilton County restaurant week

Savor Hamilton County usually showcases deals from around 30 restaurants in Carmel, Fishers and Westfield. Specials and restaurants are still being scheduled for April 27 to May 10. In 2019, some of the best deals were a $25 brunch for two at Pure Eatery and a three-course $55 dinner for two at LouVino that included the restaurant’s popular fried chicken tacos and beignets stuffed with chocolate chip cookie dough. Look for updates at savorhamiltoncounty.com.

Black Restaurant Week

Founded in Houston in 2016, Black Restaurant Week debuted in 2019 in Indianapolis. The week of deals starting at $10 returns July 19-26. Restaurant registration starts soon, so look for more information in the next several weeks about upcoming dicounts, Black Restaurant Week managing partner Falayn Ferrell said.

In 2019, Black Restarant Week featured Chef Oya’s The Trap Seafood, Jamaican Breeze Sports Bar & Gril and others. Keep up with 2020 news at indybrw.net.

Broad Ripple deals

Savor Midtown, June 8 to June 21, focuses places in and around Broad Ripple and SoBro. Deals and participating restaurants haven't been announced. Eleven restaurants took part in 2019 including Ambrosia, Jazz Kitchen, Half Liter, Delicia, Big Lug Canteen and Hoagies & Hops. Multi-course meals ranged from $15 to $40 per person. Check savormidtown.com for the latest on 2020 deals.

International restaurants

Wind down the year of so many restaurant deals by hitting what I consider Indianapolis’ most exciting food neighborhood during Savor the International Marketplace Sept. 27 to Oct. 11. The west-side area hosts dozens of chefs from all over the world and their cuisines.

Lots of new restaurants have opened in the International Marketplace in the past several months. Keep an eye open for Savor menus at savortheinternationalmarketplace.com.

In 2019, the two weeks of discounted meals featured the cuisines of Africa, Pakistan, Cuba, Thailand, India, China, Nicaragua, Mexico and the Mediterranean.
