Louisiana police arrest Indianapolis teen in rape of 5-year-old

Hector L. Martinez

Police in East Baton Rouge, Louisiana, have arrested an Indianapolis teen in the rape of a 5-year-old boy.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office arrested Hector Lisandro Martinez, 18, for first degree rape in the sexual attack on the boy in July, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in September in a Louisiana court.

Martinez, who lives in Indianapolis, was booked into the East Baton Rouge parish jail on Wednesday, records show.

The boy's parents told investigators they left the child in Martinez's care for about 20 minutes on July 29. When they returned, the child told his parents he had been raped, court documents said.

Martinez told the parents he did not assault the child. Doctors examined the boy on July 30 and found trauma consistent with a sexual assault, according to the affidavit.
