It's March 30. It's spring. It's snowing and 20 degrees below normal. But next weekend looks better.

Ah, springtime in Indiana.

You can complain about the weather — or just wait an hour or so until it changes again.

Saturday was a perfect example. And there's more to come.

Hoosiers were greeted Saturday morning with the highest temperatures of the day as a storm front moved across the state. But as the day progressed, the mercury headed south and parts of central Indiana saw snow, sleet and graupel during the early evening hours.

The precipitation is expected to end by around 10 p.m., according to Joe Skowronek, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis. After that, he said, the area should have dry weather for several days as temperatures climb back into a more normal, seasonal range.

While the forecast for Sunday doesn't include precipitation, Skowronek said the high will only reach the upper 30s. That means another spring day like Saturday, with temperatures tracking about 20 degrees below normal.

Most of next week will be dry, he said, as daily highs slowly ease back closer to normal.

There will be a chance of precipitation again Thursday or Friday, Skowronek said. And looking ahead to next weekend, he said early indications point to dry weather and highs around 60.

Unless, of course, it snows again.
